♦ Zool. Sporozoaire parasite du tube digestif des insectes, des crustacés et des vers de terre.

● grégarine nom féminin (latin gregarius) Très grand protozoaire (150 μm à près de 10 mm), ayant l'aspect d'une cellule ovoïde, dont le cytoplasme différencié est couvert par une cuticule épaisse et le plus souvent plissée longitudinalement. (Les grégarines vivent en parasites intestinaux de divers invertébrés ; elles forment un ordre de sporozoaires.)
